BTOB's Changsub Shares Touching Words For Fans At Solo Concert Before Enlistment

BTOB’s Changsub moved fans with his words at his first solo concert ahead of his enlistment.

Changsub held his first solo concert “2019 Lee Changsub Solo Concert Space” on January 4. Before appearing on stage, he said, “Hello Melody. Have you waited long? Lee Changsub’s first concert will begin now.” He then emerged from behind curtains and onto the stage, and the 2,000 fans in the concert hall cheered.

He began the concert with “Shelter” and “Falling.” After singing, he greeted his fans and thanked them. He said, “It’s great to go from BTOB’s Changsub to just Lee Changsub. I’m sincerely thankful that so many people came to see me.”

He remarked, “The name of the concert is ‘Space.’ Do you know why it’s ‘Space?'” One fan shouted, “It’s because you’re my universe!” to which Changsub joked, “That’s true too.” He then explained, “I used the name ‘Space’ because I want to be with you all in the space that is my universe.”

When he asked how fans felt about his haircut ahead of his military enlistment, his fans said he was handsome. Changsub commented, “I was going to sing a song about going to the military, but I can’t make the concert hall into a sea of tears,” and promised, “I’m not going to cry.”

Changsub continued on with the concert, singing songs such as “I Miss You,” “Way” “Knots,” “Happiness,” and “Forever.” He also sang the songs he performed on MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer.”

The BTOB member also showed off his sexy dance moves, as he performed a cover of Taemin’s “Move,” as well as other covers such as “Shallow,” “What’s On Your Mind,” “She’s Gone,” “Ever,” and “Gone.”

Before performing his encore song, Changsub shared, “The time for the end is coming. I’m thankful that I was able to finish singing. It was my first time singing 18 songs. For those at the concert only today, this is my last official schedule. Today is the last. What I’m saying is that it’s my last before my enlistment. After I am discharged, I will start again. I’m saying that this is my last concert before a momentary break.”

Changsub reflected on his career,. He said, “I debuted at 22 years old (in Korean reckoning) and I’ve turned 29 years old. It’s been seven years. Since I have to go take a momentary break, I’ve been thinking a lot. I wondered, ‘Have I done well to come down this path for seven years?’ and I think that this concert will stay in my memory the longest. BTOB is only possible because of you all, and because of you all there is Lee Changsub.”

He even added a bit of humor before his last song, saying, “Don’t be too sad. If you think about it, we aren’t going to be apart for that long. I’m coming back in August of next year. Let’s meet when I’m 30 years old. I won’t be funny if I’m in my 30s.” He concluded his concert by singing “Melody” and “At the End.”

Changsub will hold his solo concert until January 6. He will be enlisting in the military on January 14.
