'Master In The House' Cast Takes On Volunteering Challenge By Giving Massages, Ironing Clothes, And More

The cast of “Master in the House” took on a volunteering project titled “Making South Korea one degree warmer” with Jinusean member Sean.

On the January 6 episode of SBS’s “Master in the House,” the members learned about the know-hows of volunteering through their guest Sean.

Sean suggested to the “Master in the House” members that they transport 3000 coal briquettes to those in need as part of their volunteering. Sean himself already does this coal briquette transport volunteering with his wife Jung Hye Young and their children. He told the members about his parenting philosophy and commented, “I taught the children about coal briquettes ever since they were young and have been telling them that volunteering is just like having fun.”

After transporting the coal briquettes, the members did various events such as live advice center and giving out hot packs at bus stations as part of their “Making South Korea one degree warmer” project. Members Yang Se Hyung and Lee Sang Yoon ran the life advice center and even helped a 9-year-old child with his Santa Claus problem.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi and Yook Sungjae gave out hot packs to the cold commuters at bus stops. They did not reveal their faces and focused on doing a good deed through their volunteering. Lee Seung Gi even covered his face with a hat and face mask, then stood around the box of hot packs at the bus station pretending to be a commuter while saying things like “Some nice person left hot packs here for people to take” to try and encourage people to take the hot packs. Yook Sungjae later stated, “I used to want people to recognize my good deeds, but I don’t feel that way anymore.”

After the members finished their volunteering, Sean personally gifted them with four new bicycles. Sean told the members that he gained a lot from his triathlon training and that the members should also challenge themselves by doing a triathlon.

Afterward, the members suggested making a “Master in the House Challenge.” The challenge involves someone filming themselves doing a good deed then ending their video by doing the “Master in the House” pose. The members demonstrated this with Yang Se Hyung opening the door for Yoo Byung Jae and turning on the water for Kwanghee so he can wash his hands.

While Yook Sungjae personally ironed the BTOB members’ clothes, Lee Sang Yoon cleaned up a bit at a hair salon, and Lee Seung Gi gave a hot pack to his colleague at the 33rd Golden Disc Awards and gave shoulder massages to Wanna One’s Ong Seong Woo and Kim Jae Hwan.

“Master in the House” airs every Sunday at 6:25 p.m. KST.
