VERIVERY Talks About Pressures Of Debuting As First Boy Group After VIXX From Jellyfish Entertainment
VERIVERY shared their thoughts on their debut and goals.
On January 9, the new seven-member boy group held their debut showcase at the Ilchi Art Hall in Seoul.
VERIVERY is Jellyfish Entertainment’s first boy group in seven years since VIXX and consists of Kangmin, Yongseung, Yeonho, Gyeheon, Minchan, Dongheon, and Hoyoung.
Speaking about the group’s debut, Yeonho said, “We’re the boy group [from Jellyfish] that debuted after VIXX. I think we’re receiving interest due to our great seniors, so I want to thank them. Since we’re the first boy group to come out in seven years, there was pressure. But we’re accepting it as our responsibility and thinking about how we should be more nervous and not become lazy.”
Dongheon added, “VIXX participated in our reality show and gave us lots of advice. On the last day of filming, N said, ‘Always remember to eat well so you’re not hungry, and let’s eat a meal together next time.’ I remember that the most as a heartwarming memory.”
The new boy group also revealed their goals for this year. Gyeheon said, “I want more people to know our name through this album. Also, our goal is to receive the Rookie Award at this year’s award shows.”
“I think what we showed you today is just the tip of the iceberg,” added Dongheon. “We will become a group that shows you better appearances and better performances. Please remember us.”
VERIVERY released their first mini album “VERI-US” on January 7. Check out the MV for their debut track “Ring Ring Ring” here!
