South Korean President Moon Jae In Mentions BTS In New Year Speech
President Moon Jae In mentioned BTS to address one of his goals for the new year.
On January 10, a press conference in celebration of the new year took place at the Blue House. During President Moon Jae In’s speech, the president shared his hope to spread the global impact of Korean culture and mentioned BTS to support his statement.
He said, “With pride in our culture, I will make sure that it is being utilized to further the agenda of the future industry so that every citizen can enjoy a sense of accomplishment.”
He continued, “Many foreigners are wildly excited about K-pop such as BTS and Korean dramas. I will work to establish an environment of fair competition where the creation of the second generation of BTS and the third generation of Hallyu is possible, and creators receive the proper treatment they deserve.”
He concluded, “My goal for this year is to make every citizen feel that our government’s political agenda is heading toward the right direction in his or her daily life.”
