Boy Group Leader Becomes Their 5th Member To Impress On “The King Of Mask Singer”
“Choose” on “The King of Mask Singer” has been revealed to be the leader of a popular group!
Previously on the January 6 episode, he competed against “Jumong” with a duet performance of Sung Si Kyung’s “It Would Be Good.”
“Choose” won the round with 67 votes over 32 votes for “Jumong,” who was revealed to be Austin Kang.
For the second round that aired on January 13, “Choose” showcased a solo performance of Crush’s “Sofa,” competing against “Sky Lantern.”
“Sky Lantern” won the round with 67 votes over 32 for “Choose.”
When “Choose” took off his mask, he revealed himself to be Wanna One’s Yoon Ji Sung.
He shared, “I was so nervous that my hands were shaking. I don’t usually have a lot of parts and have never sang a full song alone on stage. I always performed with our members, so I was more nervous performing alone.”
Wanna One members Hwang Min Hyun, Kim Jae Hwan, Ha Sung Woon, and Lee Dae Hwi appeared on the program before him. He revealed that the members gave him lots of ideas, and Lee Dae Hwi taught him Sunmi’s “Siren” dance for him to show off during the show. He continued, “They keep on sending me calls and texts right now also. I think the members are really curious about how it’s going.”
As Wanna One’s contract officially ended on December 31, he commented, “We promoted for a year and six months. A lot happened, and we ran through it hectically. Thank you for gifting us emotions that wouldn’t have been felt if we didn’t debut.”
Afterwards, Yoon Ji Sung remarked in an interview backstage, “Before I debuted, I was told that my voice is unpleasant to listen to, so I did not love my voice. However, senior artists complimented me [today] saying that I have a sweet voice. It has become an opportunity for me to love myself more.”
