Hello Venus’s Nara To Star Opposite Namgoong Min In New Drama
On January 15, the producers of KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “Doctor Prisoner” (literal title) announced, “Hello Venus’s Nara has been confirmed to appear in ‘Doctor Prisoner’ in the role of psychiatrist Han So Geum.”
“Doctor Prisoner” is a medical suspense drama about a brilliant surgeon who is fired from his job at a large hospital and ends up becoming the medical director of a prison. Last week, Namgoong Min confirmed that he would be taking on the leading role of Dr. Nah Yi Jae in the very first medical drama of his acting career.
Nara, who is also taking on the medical genre for the first time, will be playing Han So Geum, a psychiatrist who works at a hospital but also volunteers at a prison out of the kindness of her heart. The observant and warm-hearted Han So Geum ends up running into Nah Yi Jae through her pro bono work at the prison.
Nara remarked, “Every actor has the desire to try playing a doctor at least once, and the thought that I’ll be acting together with Namgoong Min, of whom I have always been a fan and a viewer, makes me nervous and excited already. I will work hard to prepare and repay [the viewers] with good acting, so that they are able to enjoy watching the drama.”
Are you excited to see Nara and Namgoong Min star together in this new drama?
“Doctor Prisoner” is currently scheduled to premiere sometime in the first half of 2019.
