BTOB’s Minhyuk Talks About Changing His Appearance For Solo Album

BTOB’s Minhyuk talked about what different changes he went through with his appearance for his first solo album!

On January 15, Minhyuk held a showcase for the release of his first solo album “HUTAZONE” at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul. At the event, the idol member showed off his blonde hair, which perfectly matched his golden suit.

He revealed, “In our group, I have a strong ‘friendly’ image. I wanted to show a completely different side of me with this album. In order to make myself look more like a celebrity, I bleached my hair and pierced my ears for the first time in 30 years.”

Minhyuk then explained the meaning behind “Huta” in the album’s name. The singer said, “‘Huta’ is a Sino-Korean word that means ‘to swing into an empty space.’ You know how baseball players countlessly practice swinging their bats into empty spaces? Just like they endure and put effort into their work, the album name suggests that I will also train myself hard.”

“HUTAZONE” is a studio album with a total of 11 tracks, all of which Minhyuk co-composed. It also includes a duet with BTOB’s Yook Sungjae titled “It Must Be a Dream” (literal title) and “You Too? Me TOO!” featuring (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon.

The album will drop on January 15 at 6 p.m. KST.
