“SKY Castle” Announces Police Investigation And Strong Legal Action For Script Leak
Strong action is being taken for the recent leak of “SKY Castle” scripts.
The scripts for the upcoming episodes 17 and 18 circulated online on January 16, and the production team released initial statements in response.
On January 17, the production team shared an additional statement announcing an official police investigation.
The statement reads as follows:
The “SKY Castle” production team is officially submitting a request for investigation regarding the illegal circulation of the script.
This is because the script is still circulating online right now although we strongly warned against illegally spreading the script for the protection of viewer rights.
The illegal leak and circulation of the script are actions that infringe the copyright of the writer’s own creative work and lower the enthusiasm of the viewers who are waiting for the broadcast and the production team.
The “SKY Castle” production team is submitting a request to the police cybercrime investigation unit, and after thorough investigation of the source of the leak as well as those who circulated it, we will strictly hold them to criminal and civil liabilities.
This is once again a reminder that illegal file circulation is a severe violation of the law.
“SKY Castle” airs on Fridays and Saturdays via JTBC and has continuously achieved record-breaking ratings.
