ASTRO’s Moonbin In Talks To Join Ong Seong Woo’s New Drama + More Leads Confirmed
On January 17, Star News reported that Moonbin will appear in JTBC’s upcoming drama “18 Moments” (literal translation), which also stars Wanna One’s Ong Seong Woo as its male lead.
Moonbin was offered the role of Jung Oh Se who becomes the only friend of Choi Jun Woo (Ong Seong Woo) after he transfers in from another school. He also enjoys cooking, so he often takes care of Jun Woo’s meals as he lives alone and often skips meals.
In response, Fantagio Entertainment said, “Moonbin is positively reviewing an offer for ’18 Moments.’ Nothing has been confirmed.”
Moobin has previously appeared in dramas such as KBS’s “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009 and the 2015 web drama “To Be Continued.” His latest work was web drama “Idol Fever” in 2017.
“18 Moments” also confirmed more lead roles including Kim Hyang Gi and Shin Seung Ho.
Kim Hyang Gi, who will be making her first drama comeback in four years, will play the role of Yu Soo Bin. With her mother’s support that goes a bit overboard sometimes, Yu Soo Bin lives meaningless days without a goal set in mind. After encountering Jun Woo, she starts to notice small changes in her life.
Kim Hyang Gi said, “I’m glad and thrilled to be meeting you with my first drama in a long time. I will try my best to impress.”
Shin Seung Ho will play the role of Ma Hwi Young who seems like a perfect man at first but carries darkness inside him. His character Ma Hwi Young has superior visuals, a gentle personality, and everyone’s trust. While he pretends to be courageous and strong, he is just an 18-year-old student with lots of worries. After Jun Woo transfers to his school, the strong wall he has built around him starts to tremble.
Shin Seung Ho said, “I’m very nervous since it’s my first drama on TV, and I took on a very big role. At the same time, I’m overwhelmed and excited. I will participate in filming with a sincere manner at all times and will do my best to impress viewers.”
