Super Junior's Leeteuk Opens Up About Health + Keeps Promise To Perform At 2nd SMTOWN Chile Concert

Super Junior’s Leeteuk opened up about his health after he was unable to attend the first of two SMTOWN concerts in Santiago, Chile.

SM Entertainment artists such as BoA, Super Junior, and EXO are currently in Chile to meet with fans through their “SMTOWN Special Stage 2019 in Santiago” event, which takes place on January 18 and 19 (local time). Super Junior’s agency Label SJ announced that Leeteuk was not able to perform on the first day due to being diagnosed with enteritis, with his condition not improving enough to safely perform on stage.

Leeteuk took to his personal Instagram account earlier today to open up about his health, along with a promise to attend the second performance. He stated, “Since my cholecystectomy last year, I haven’t been able to digest food as easily as I used to, so I often experience stomach pain and diarrhea.”

He went on to say, “From five days ago, I have been suffering from diarrhea while I was filming, but I thought it would be okay so I took the 30-hour trip to Chile, but my condition worsened. I want to apologize to our Chilean fans who have waited for a long time.” Leeteuk added, “So, I will stand on stage at the second SMTOWN performance today no matter what. I apologize for worrying fans by sharing bad news about my health like this. Today, I will do my best and work harder than ever before. To our Chilean ELFs, thank you and I’m sorry.”
