ASTRO Talks About New Album Concept, Which Member Has Changed The Most, And More

ASTRO appeared on MBC FM4U’s “Ji Suk Jin’s 2 O’Clock Date” on January 23 to talk about their latest comeback.

Ji Suk Jin asked, “The concept of your new album that was released on January 16 is ‘fantastical and sexy gardener.’ Which member fits the concept the best?” Moonbin received four of the votes and came in first place.

Sanha explained, “Moonbin has really great hand gestures when he’s on stage,” and MJ added, “For Moonbin, his entire life is sexy. He has this sexiness about him even when he’s getting out of bed or washing up.” JinJin chimed in with, “Moonbin has great physical features. He sometimes quirks his lips up, and I think that’s what captivates fans.”

The members were then asked which member has changed the most, and Sanha was picked. MJ said, “Sanha was a minor when he debuted, and he’s now twenty (Korean age reckoning). And he’s gotten really tall too.” According to Sanha, he was 167 centimeters when he was a trainee, and he is now 184 centimeters. Sanha also revealed that the moment they rang in the new year, his older brother handed him a shot of soju, but he admitted that he didn’t really like it that much.

On whether any of the members have interesting habits when they’re drunk, Sanha replied, “Moonbin and MJ become very hyper. And then they lose their energy. JinJin will quietly disappear somewhere during the night.”

JinJin and MJ also shared their experience writing b-side track “Bloom” together. JinJin said, “We stayed up all night working on that song. We stayed up a lot of nights. So MJ and I became closer than before.” JinJin added, “It was meaningful to create something together. It was a great experience taking our thoughts and creating music out of them.”

ASTRO recently made their comeback with their first full-length album “All Light” and is currently busy with promotions for their title track “All Night.”
