Ryu Jun Yeol Shares His Desire To Do More Than Just Acting

Ryu Jun Yeol expressed his desire to participate in making movies as well as acting in them.

The actor will soon be returning to the big screen with a new movie titled “Hit-and-Run Squad.” He actively reflected his opinions in this movie and created a different character from the one in the scenario.

Ryu Jun Yeol shared, “It seems to be the result of communication. I opened up a lot about the things I forcefully kept inside of me while walking on eggshells. I certainly had a lot of opinions in this film compared to the other ones. The director listened to me a lot and heeded my opinions. He supported me.”

He continued, “When my character changed from the scenario, the crew was curious at first but later liked it. When the youngest crew member changed the settings, he came quietly to me and said he liked how my new character was different from the original one. That touched me. I was grateful and thought it was worthwhile how we were in an environment where he could tell me that, even though he might have had his own idea of my character.”

When asked if Ryu Jun Yeol was interested in being part of the film crew, he said, “Even if I don’t participate in a movie as an actor, I have a desire to participate in making films, whether in directing, production, planning, or screenwriting. I think it’s because that’s all that I know.”

“Hit-and-Run Squad” opens in theaters in Korea on January 30.
