B1A4’s Baro Talks About Working With Shin Ha Kyun, What Genre He Wishes To Try, And More
“Less Than Evil” is a Korean remake of the popular BBC series “Luther.” The drama follows Woo Tae Seok (Shin Ha Kyun), a detective who will do whatever it takes to achieve justice, and Eun Sun Jae (Lee Seol), a psychopath who enjoys playing mind games.
Baro played Hwang Dong Yeon, Woo Tae Seok’s partner who respects and follows him. The idol-turned-actor said, “I feel thankful for viewers who enjoyed [‘Less Than Evil’]. I’ve become attached to the S&S Team (‘Serious & Serial Team’ that deals with serial killers in the drama), and I can’t believe that the drama ended. It feels like I graduated from school. I wonder when I will get to see them again.”
When asked about his chemistry with Shin Ha Kyun, Baro answered, “Saying the words ‘thank you’ to Shin Ha Kyun is not enough. He approached me first and talked about many things. He gave me lots of advice as if we were in one-on-one tutoring, and one of the things he told me was the mindset an actor should have when taking on a new project.”
Baro was also asked to rate his acting from “Less Than Evil.” He said, “I want to do it all over again from the beginning. If I were to do it again, I’m confident that I would do better. I feel regretful. I’ve also realized something while working with Shin Ha Kyun in ‘Less Than Evil.’ I knew that I lacked many things, but I realized that I’m missing out on more than I thought I did. I also realized that I will never be like Shin Ha Kyun with the effort I’m putting in right now. If I were given another opportunity, I want to try it again.”
He also shared what genre he wishes to try in the future. Baro said, “[I want to act] in action [films or dramas]. Nothing simple, I want to do an action scene that is hard to film. I want it to be about punishing villains, so that people get satisfaction from watching it. It’s because I still prefer action over romantic comedies.”
When asked which actor he would like to work with for an action film, Baro named Ryoo Seung Bum. He said, “I saw Ryoo Seung Bum’s acting in ‘The Berlin File.’ His actions, which seemed like they were acted out indifferently, were impressive. I want to work together with someone like him. Of course, I also want to do it with Shin Ha Kyun.”
