CLC Reveals Unique Method They Used To Select Their Newest Title Track

On January 30, CLC participated in a press conference for the release of their eighth mini album “No. 1.” During the event, the girl group explained the meaning behind the album name “No. 1” and how “No” was chosen as their newest title track.

The girl group explained, “We write it as ‘No. 1’ but read it as ‘No one.’ It means that no one else can replace us. Elkie came up with the idea.” They continued, “Until now, we’ve shown different images including innocent, cute, and sexy. This time, we decided to show our unique color that can’t be defined as one thing.”

They moved on to reveal that their title track was chosen through a blind test. They said, “We are confident with our non-title tracks. We had many tracks as candidates for our new title track, but our agency’s CEO selected ‘No’ through a blind test.”

Eunbin also took time to thank (G)I-DLE‘s Soyeon who co-composed “No.” The CLC member said, “I’ve always wanted to work on a track with her. Because we know each other fairly well, I think we were able to come up with a fun song. I’m thankful for that.”

CLC’s title track “No” is a dance song that combines the unique texture of the synth bass and a dynamic bass line. The lyrics express the confidence of someone who cannot be expressed through one color.
