ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo And Shin Se Kyung In Talks To Unite In New Historical Drama
On February 7, a source from the drama industry stated, “Cha Eun Woo has chosen MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung’ (literal title) as his next project following last year’s JTBC drama ‘My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.’ He will be taking on his first-ever lead role in a major network’s miniseries.”
In response, Fantagio Entertainment said, “Cha Eun Woo received an offer for ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung’ and is positively reviewing the offer at the moment.”
“Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” will tell the story of women in the 19th century who were frowned upon for writing historical records despite being female. The drama will fight against outdated prejudice on the basis of gender and social status and show the value of change. On top of telling survival stories of female intern historians at the palace, it will also show the romance that blossoms between Prince Yi Rim and historian Goo Hae Ryung.
According to the report, Cha Eun Woo will play the role of Prince Yi Rim. The prince lives a double life as a lonely prince who has never dated anyone and a popular romance novelist who has the city of Hanyang at the palm of his hands. While juggling both worlds, he meets Goo Hae Ryung and begins to develop feelings for her.
Shin Se Kyung is currently in talks for the role of Goo Hae Ryung. On January 28, a source from her agency confirmed that the actress received an offer for “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” and is reviewing it.
