The new film “Extreme Job” has just made history at the Korean box office!

According to the Korean Film Council, “Extreme Job” reached a total of 12,835,396 moviegoers on February 10, setting a new record for the highest ticket sales achieved by any Korean comedy film. The previous record was held by the 2013 film “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” which drew a total of 12,811,206 moviegoers during its run.

Not only did “Extreme Job” become the highest-grossing Korean comedy film of all time in just 19 days, but it has also already managed to land a spot in the top eight highest-grossing Korean box office hits—of any genre—in history.

“Extreme Job” stars Ryu Seung Ryong, Honey Lee, Jin Sun Kyu, Lee Dong Hwi, and Gong Myung as a five-member squad of detectives who go undercover to bust an organized drug ring. However, things go awry when the fried chicken restaurant that they set up as a front for their investigations becomes unexpectedly popular.

Congratulations to the film’s cast and crew on their historic achievement!
