YG Entertainment Forwards Case Concerning Malicious Rumors To Prosecution

On February 12, YG Entertainment gave an update on the progress of the case against those who are making malicious comments and groundless rumors about YG artists.

The first person to spread a specific groundless and malicious rumor of YG artists was a woman in her early 20s, and the suspect’s case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for indictment. In a subsequent investigation, the prosecution ordered the police to summon the friends of the suspect who had talked about the false rumors with her. Further investigation is underway as information on the suspect’s friends is yet unclear.

Since early last year, YG Entertainment has declared a strong response to malicious and distorted rumors, and has been taking large-scale legal action against malicious commenters through separate monitoring by fans and the legal team. There are currently six cases, including cases that have already been indicted, that have been forwarded to prosecution or are scheduled to be forwarded to prosecution, and investigations into several other cases are also in the final stages.

YG Entertainment plans to continue its strict response to malicious commenters this year.
