BTS Producer Pdogg Named Composer And Lyricist With Highest Royalties Earnings In 2018

Big Hit Entertainment producer Pdogg, who works closely with BTS, was awarded by the Korea Music Copyright Association for highest earnings from royalties in 2018.

The Korea Music Copyright Association announced the recipients of their Royalties Awards, in which they honor the songwriters who have earned the most in royalties in 2018. Pdogg won as both the composer and lyricist with the highest earnings from royalties in the popular music category.

For arrangements, Vanilla Man (Jung Jae Won), who works on music for artists such as Bolbbalgan4, took home the prize for the second consecutive year. For traditional music, Park Kyung Hoon won in Korean traditional music, Lee So Young won in children’s music, and Kim Sung Gyun took home the award for classical music.

The Korea Music Copyright Association’s Royalties Awards began in 2015 and award musicians with the highest earnings from royalties in various categories. Hong Jin Young, the head of the association explained, “We hold these awards to not only celebrate the musicians who have captured the hearts of the people, but to also provide more motivation to the many musicians out there who are creating music.”
