IZ*ONE's Miyawaki Sakura Names Actors She Hopes To Meet On

IZ*ONE’s Miyawaki Sakura shared her hopes and concerns about Olive’s “Everyone’s Kitchen.”

On February 21, Miyawaki Sakura joined Lee Chung Ah, Kwanghee, chief producer (CP) Park Sang Hyuk, and producing director (PD) Kim Kwan Tae at the press conference for the variety show.

When asked if there were guests she wants to meet on the show, MIyawaki Sakura answered, “I like Do Min Joon [Kim Soo Hyun‘s character in ‘My Love from the Star‘] and I also want to see Lee Seung Gi [host of Mnet’s ‘Produce 48’].”

About joining “Everyone’s Kitchen,” she said, “I was worried because I’m not good at speaking Korean. My Korean isn’t great, but I want to improve through the program. I want to make many Korean friends through my improvement.” She continued, “I like cooking, so I didn’t need to practice separately, but definitely did so before filming. All of the cast members are like my family now. I’m having a lot of fun filming.”

Explaining why he cast Miyawaki Sakura, CP Park Sang Hyuk said, “It’s airing at the end of February, so we had our first meeting at the beginning of February. She barely spoke Korean at the time. I was so surprised and told her agency CEO that I didn’t think she’ll be able to join the show.”

He added, “I told Kang Ho Dong that we were going to do the show with a foreigner, but that I didn’t think we could because she couldn’t speak Korean. But he was in favor of it and said that he would use a mobile translating app. It’s a show where we speak to strangers, so we decided to have her on board with the thought of taking on this adventure together.”

“We met three weeks later and I was so surprised,” said the CP. “She had improved a lot within three weeks.”

“Everyone’s Kitchen” is a cooking variety show exploring the concept of “social dining” where people meet for the first time and become closer while cooking, eating, and talking together. The pilot aired on December 29, 2018 and became regular programming due to positive responses to the show. The regular programming for “Everyone’s Kitchen” will premiere on February 24 at 7:40 p.m. KST.
