Hong Jong Hyun Explains How His New Film Is Comforting

Hong Jong Hyun revealed how his new film “Spring, Again” (literal title) was a source of unexpected comfort.

“Spring, Again” is a “time-rewind” film about a woman (played by Lee Chung Ah) who has lost her daughter makes a crucial decision that takes her past the point of no return. She begins living a life where time flows backwards a day at a time, receiving a second chance at life. Hong Jong Hyun plays the warm-hearted Ho Min, who gives her the mysterious key to time travel that starts it all.

At a press conference for the film held on March 5, Hong Jong Hyun shared, “After reading the screenplay, I was comforted in an inconspicuous way.”

“There are many people in this world who hurt because of their pasts,” he explained. “I feel like that’s why I was comforted as well. I believe that viewers will also feel the same way through this film.”

When asked what he would want to do if he could rewind his life, the actor revealed, “I think I would try and frequently meet the people I can no longer see anymore.”

“Spring, Again” will be released in South Korean theaters in April. Hong Jong Hyun is also set to star in KBS2’s upcoming drama “Mother of Mine,” which will premiere on March 23.
