BTS And TXT's Label Big Hit Entertainment Appoints New Co-CEO

Big Hit Entertainment, which houses K-pop boy groups BTS and TXT, appointed former CBO (Chief Business Officer) Yoon Seok Jun as co-CEO on March 5.

The move is a direct response to the growth that the label has undergone. Moving forward, content production and business will be split between the two CEOs, experts in their respective fields: CEO Bang Shi Hyuk will oversee content production, while CEO Yoon Seok Jun will take charge of the business side of things, including global business, video content and intellectual property, and more.

Yoon Seok Jun first joined Big Hit Entertainment in 2010 as a strategic planning officer, and has wide-ranging experience in content production, management, and business. With innovative ideas and a sharp business sense, he is regarded as a key “hidden player” in the growth of Big Hit. The co-CEO recognized early on the importance of streaming and video content, and created a team of video experts at the label. The team went on to create the stream of BTS’s famous video content, which has often been touted as a significant factor in the explosive growth of the group’s fandom.

At around 2015, Yoon Seok Jun moved more into business affairs, focusing on expansion and, in 2017, development of global partnerships and networking.

Big Hit said, “CEO Yoon Seok Jun is someone who has never given up his efforts to create the best content, while at the same time boldly taking charge with new efforts. With his new appointment as co-CEO, we are going to strengthen our expertise in all respects to meet fans’ expectations and develop our ability to compete globally.”
