WINNER's Kim Jin Woo and Apink's Yoon Bomi To Join New Fishing Variety Show

SBS is set to launch a new fishing variety show called “Legendary Big Fish” (literal title)!

“Legendary Big Fish” will follow a dream team of celebrity fishing enthusiasts as they travel the world and attempt to catch the biggest fish in the world.

The team will be led by actor Lee Tae Gon, who is known as the emperor of fishing in the celebrity world. The actor has appeared on various fishing variety shows in the past, and has proven his skills by catching a dorado measuring over one meter, as well as a giant red sea-bream. He will be joined by Ji Sang Ryul, whose sociability is set to help the team become closer to the locals they meet as they travel, and action director and actor Jung Doo Hong, who has been fishing ever since he was seven years old with his father, who was the captain of a ship.

Along with them is WINNER’s Kim Jin Woo, who is called “Little Kang Tae Gong” as he grew up with a fisherman father. He is set to surprise with his contrasting charms as he takes over the seas. Apink’s Yoon Bomi will be the youngest member of the group, and she aims to earn the title of “Fishing Queen.” She is said to be receiving one-on-one fishing lessons in preparation for the show.

The team’s first location is Thailand, as they go on the hunt for a freshwater fish that grows up to 6 meters long and 600 kilograms and a sailfish, called the cheetah of the sea. The team will be maintaining a “Catch and release” policy, letting go all of the fish they catch. They will learn fishing techniques from locals and engage in friendly competitions, learning about new cultures along the way.

“Legendary Big Fish” will premiere in early April.
