Fan Community Asks For Lee Jong Hyun's Removal From CNBLUE

Following revelations of CNBLUE’s Lee Jong Hyun being involved in an illicit chatroom with Jung Joon Young, some fans have requested Lee Jong Hyun’s removal from CNBLUE.

On March 15, a statement was posted on the DC CNBLUE Gallery demanding his removal. They mentioned that “Lee Jong Hyun has forgotten his duties as a public figure, a CNBLUE member, a singer, and as a person, has caused public criticism, and has tarnished the images of CNBLUE and FNC Entertainment.”

The statement continues, “He was revealed as a member of a controversial 1:1 chatroom and he forgot his duties as a public figure when he continued such acts like saying remarks that objectify women without any restraint. He is consistently being silent without giving a genuine apology or self-reflecting. While the argument regarding the illegality of Lee Jong Hyun’s actions will be revealed through the police investigation, we cannot accept and be consumers of Lee Jong Hyun’s activities considering the social perceptions of sexual assault and the fact that the majority of the fandom is comprised of females.”

It concludes, “We strongly demand as of March 15, 2019 that Lee Jong Hyun be removed, not suspended, from the group. However, this is unrelated to the opinions of the CNBLUE members. We will respect the members’ opinions.”

Earlier today, FNC released a statement regarding Lee Jong Hyun’s controversial chats with Jung Joon Young. Previously, FTISLAND’s Choi Jong Hoon decided to leave FTISLAND and retire from the industry after his messages in a chatroom with Seungri, Jung Joon Young, and more were revealed.
