Watch: Mnet Reveals Plans For Upcoming Variety Show "TMI News" To Report Info About K-Pop Idols
Mnet will be airing a new idol news program!
On March 21, a source from Mnet said, “In April, we will produce and air ‘TMI News,’ which will be about recent and never-before-released information about Korea’s top idols in the format of a news talk show.”
The source continued, “We planned the program while thinking that any story related to idols can turn into information. We also included the intuitive meaning ‘Thursday Mnet Idol’ [matching the acronym for ‘too much information’] to say that we’ll deliver news about idols on Thursday nights.”
They added, “We’ll come to you with a talk show that we’ll create with viewers on TMI bits about idols.”
Producing director Shin Yoo Sun stated, “Mnet is the best in the area of idols, and we’ll be launching an idol variety news talk show. It’ll be centered around idols, but it’ll be a fun program that everyone, including idol fans, can enjoy with many guests from various fields. Also, ‘TMI News’ is a program that’s created with fans. If there’s a ‘TMI’ you want to share with people about your favorite idol, please don’t hesitate to let us know.”
Mnet also released a teaser featuring Jun Hyun Moo, who has been selected as the anchor of “TMI News.” This is the former announcer’s return as a news anchor for the first time in 10 years. In the teaser, Jun Hyun Moo tried to set a serious tone while sitting behind the news desk, and expressed his excitement at becoming an anchor again.
“TMI News” will premiere on April 25 at 8 p.m. KST. Check out the teaser below:
