Actress Jin Kyung Reveals She Was Once Married + Explains Story Behind Confusion Over Her Marriage Status

On the March 21 episode of “Happy Together,” actress Jin Kyung revealed that she was once married.

While talking about her character Na Hong Joo in “My Only One,” the actress admitted, “I actually was married once. However, when you look online, it says I’ve never married.”

Jin Kyung shared, “At the end of an interview in the past, a reporter asked me, ‘Do you have any plans for marriage?’ and I replied, ‘I don’t have any plans,’ since I didn’t. But the reporter wrote, ‘Still unmarried with no plans for marriage.’ I didn’t lie, but I was misunderstood. I thought there was no reason for me to say then that I was divorced.”

She said jokingly, “I wasn’t a top star, and I couldn’t hold a press conference to say, ‘I was married and then divorced.’ And it’s not like I was guilty of anything.”

Jin Kyung explained that as she gained more popularity, she began to be included in articles such as lists of women who are great at playing certain roles despite having never been married.

“It made me feel uncomfortable because people kept misunderstanding and thinking that I’d never been married,” she said. “I couldn’t explain myself because I didn’t appear on variety shows. I thought it would be good to talk about it here, since it’s my first variety show.”
