2PM's Taecyeon Receives Award For Exemplary Service As Active Duty Soldier

2PM’s Taecyeon has been awarded for being an exemplary soldier during his time in the military!

On April 2, Taecyeon attended a ceremony that presented exemplary soldiers with appreciation plaques. He was there to receive an award that recognized him for being a role model to those around him during his service.

Taecyeon gave up his United States Permanent Resident status and underwent herniated disk surgery in order to serve as an active duty soldier. He is currently a military instruction assistant at the 9th Armed Forces Division in Gyeonggi Province. Taecyeon was recommended to appear in the Armed Forces Day event in October 2018 because of his exemplary behavior and dedication to his service. In February, he was given an early promotion to sergeant status on the basis of his outstanding conduct.

After receiving the award, Taecyeon stated, “I am very honored and grateful to be receiving this award on behalf of the many people who serve in the army. I have learned so much during my time here. I will continue to work hard until my discharge date, and I will do my best to be better.”

Taecyeon is set to be discharged from the army on May 16.
