Vegan beauty brands are few and far between, especially in K-beauty. Though not many K-beauty brands are completely vegan (like some below), it seems that they are heading down that path. There are a bunch of reasons why you should go vegan, even in skincare. For example, they’re 100 percent cruelty-free, better for sensitive skin, even better for the planet, and the list goes on! So here are five brands that are (mostly) vegan.

Happy Vegan

Just going to point out the obvious here. Yes, Happy Vegan is completely vegan! Though as of now they only have a line of masks, we have our fingers crossed that they’ll be coming out with new products soon. Happy Vegan is one of the few brands out there that truly understands your love for the animals and environment. Their hypoallergenic masks are free from mineral oils, fragrances, and artificial coloring. The masks themselves are made from 100 percent Cupra Cotton that is super soft to the skin and environmentally friendly as well. Black tea is a vital ingredient for A.True’s products, and they source it from Compagnie Coloniale, one of France’s most established tea brands. Their black tea-infused products are helpful for skin concerns like aging and puffiness. Their philosophy promises consumers that they use “true” ingredients that are safe for the skin and won’t cause any irritation. They have also clarified that they are only using vegan ingredients, so you can set your worries aside!

Klairs

This is a brand that’s mostly vegan. Some of the exceptions include the Manuka Honey & Choco Body Soap and Midnight Blue Calming Cream. It’s also good to note that all Klairs products are sold to China via online market only, allowing them to be exempt from the country’s mandatory animal testing. Just as the name suggests, Thank You Farmer is mostly vegan. Their Back to Relax Soothing Gel, for one, isn’t vegan, so be sure to scroll through the ingredients when you’re browsing! The brand’s honest approach to beauty and skincare is one to be applauded, as it’s hard to say the same about other big name brands out there. Adopting the mentality of farmers, the brand doesn’t take shortcuts with their products and instead uses quality ingredients that your skin will thank you for.

Whamisa

All of Whamisa’s products are made from natural ingredients and are vegetarian-friendly as well. They do have more than a handful of products that are vegan, but the brand isn’t 100 percent vegan, as they do use ingredients such as beeswax, honey, and royal jelly. Whamisa uses organic and fermented ingredients, so your skin gets to have a taste of various interesting botanical extracts.
