Watch: BLACKPINK Talks About Collaborating With Dua Lipa And Being A Part Of The K-Pop Movement

BLACKPINK participated in a fun interview with “Beats 1.”

When asked to choose their favorite things about visiting the United States, Jennie answered “everything” including the weather and feeling welcome, and Lisa echoed similar sentiments, saying she loves Los Angeles so much that she wants to live there.

About their dream musical abilities, Rosé wished for the ability to find the chords immediately after listening to any song, while Lisa said she wished she could sing better. For their studio must-haves, Rosé said she needs a cardigan, water, and her phone, while Jennie also named water as well as face mist and lip balm.

The BLACKPINK members also listed some of their biggest musical inspirations. Rosé named Lany’s “Malibu Nights,” and Jisoo chose Rihanna as well as BLACKPINK’s album. Lisa picked Joji’s “Ballads 1” album and Dua Lipa, and Jennie shared her love for Dua Lipa’s “New Rules.”

In October 2018, BLACKPINK collaborated with Dua Lipa for the track “Kiss and Make Up.” Rose explained, “A few of my members went to her concert,” and Jennie continued, “Me and Lisa went to watch the concert and we met her and she was so nice and everything.” Rosé added, “I guess things went along pretty well,” and Jennie said, “Dua sent us a song called ‘Kiss and Make Up’ wondering if we wanted to feature on it.”

On being a part of the K-pop movement, Jennie stated that they were very thankful for the timing because of everyone’s interest in K-pop. Rosé described it as “surreal” and added that she was glad, nervous, and excited to be a part of it.
