Watch: Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, Lee Sung Kyung, And Ra Mi Ran Are The Female Heroes We Needed In “Girl Cops” Teaser
Upcoming film “Girl Cops” has released its first teaser!
“Girl Cops” is about two female detectives who work together to solve a digital sex crime that the rest of the police force has given up on. Ra Mi Ran plays a former legendary detective named Park Mi Young, while Lee Sung Kyung portrays a hotheaded detective named Ji Hye.
On April 10, the film distributor CJ Entertainment gave fans a peek at “Girl Cops” with its first teaser.
In the clip, Ra Mi Ran rides a segway down the street. Her charisma makes male co-workers pick up their cigarette butts and stop in their tracks to greet her. She steps foot into the office and shouts, “Why is the indoor air like this? Let’s ventilate before we start.”
Once the workday begins, however, Ra Mi Ran is all smiles as she sits behind her desk. She says, “Hello. This is the Sungsan Police Station’s Public Service Center of kindness and volunteering. How can I help you?” The words on the screen introduce her as a legendary detective who became an acting officer of the Public Service Center.
Lee Sung Kyung then walks down the street dressed in a flight attendant uniform before she loses her temper and attacks someone. This is caught on camera by a bystander, who uploads it online titled, “Excessive Force at Sinchon Station.”
After Lee Sung Kyung gets yelled at by her superior, Ra Mi Ran complains, “Why does she have to work here for disciplinary punishment?” as Lee Sung Kyung, “the hotheaded detective who gets kicked out of her position to work at the Public Service Center,” sits behind the desk in between Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung and Ra Mi Ran. The two officers are then spotted eating dinner together at home, where it’s revealed that Ra Mi Ran and Lee Sung Kyung are sisters-in-law.
When another woman in her 20s dies by suicide due to the leak of a sex video, Ra Mi Ran and Lee Sung Kyung decide that they’re the only ones to crack this case. They run and fight to pursue truth and justice.
“Girl Cops” premieres in theaters on May 9. Check out the trailer below:
