BTS and BLACKPINK have just made history on Spotify’s latest daily and weekly charts!

On April 12, BTS’s new title track “Boy With Luv,” featuring Halsey, debuted on Spotify’s daily Global Top 200 chart at No. 4—the highest debut ever on the chart for a song by a Korean artist. The previous record for the highest-ranking debut on the chart by a Korean artist was held by BTS’s “Fake Love,” which entered the chart at No. 17 last year.

In addition to breaking their own record for highest-ranking chart debut, BTS has now also tied BLACKPINK’s record for the highest overall chart ranking ever achieved by a Korean artist. BLACKPINK’s latest title track “Kill This Love,” which debuted on the chart at No. 57 on April 4, set a new record when it rose to No. 4 on April 5, its first full day on the chart.

Not only did “Boy With Luv” enter the chart at No. 4, but BTS’s six other tracks from their new mini album “Map of the Soul: Persona” also debuted within the Top 50 of Spotify’s daily chart: “Mikrokosmos” debuted at No. 14, “Make It Right” at No. 17, “HOME” at No. 19, “Dionysus” at No. 22, “Jamais Vu” at No. 24, and “Intro: Persona” at No. 39.

Meanwhile, after breaking the record for the highest ranking ever achieved by a Korean artist on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 last week, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” set a new record on the streaming service’s latest weekly chart as well. The song debuted at No. 5 on Spotify’s weekly Global Top 200 chart for the week of April 11, marking the highest ranking ever achieved by a Korean artist on the weekly chart.

Congratulations to both BTS and BLACKPINK on their impressive achievements!
