1THE9's Jeon Doyum Talks About Receiving Warm Advice From BTS's J-Hope On "Under 19"

On April 17, 1THE9 held their debut showcase at Hanatour V-Hall in Seoul.

During the event, 1THE9’s Jeon Doyum talked about receiving advice from BTS’s J-Hope on the MBC survival program “Under 19.” On the January 5 episode of the show, J-Hope appeared as a surprise guest to cheer on the team covering his group’s hit track “Fake Love” for their “shuffle mission.” J-Hope had presented the team consisting of Jeon Doyum, Shin Yechan, Lim Hyeongbin, Kang Junhyuck, Kim Junseo, Lee Sangmin, and Yoon Taekyung with snacks, and even gave them advice on the difficult parts of the song’s choreography.

Remembering that moment, Jeon Doyum remarked, “J-Hope sunbaenim [senior] helped us out. I originally really liked BTS, so when [J-Hope] really came I almost cried many times. I remember crying after it ended. He told us that if we perform each time with sincerity, then those watching will recognize that and be moved.”

When asked how he would feel if he met BTS in the waiting rooms at music shows, Jeon Doyum responded, “Just like always, I think I’ll always cry if I meet them. It’s so touching.”
