Because most Korean given names consist of two syllables, each name is made up of two Chinese characters and therefore has two meanings in it. The meanings can be considered separately or combined in a way that makes sense to you. Also, there are many possible Chinese characters for each syllable, so the ones we suggest are not the only options available.
