Ryu Jun Yeol Shares Photos From Event With President Moon Jae In
Ryu Jun Yeol met South Korean President Moon Jae In!
On April 26, Moon Jae In traveled to Goseong in the province of Gangwon to visit the “DMZ [Demilitarized Zone] Peace Trail” to mark the first anniversary of the Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula and express hope for permanent peace in Korea.
This declaration was adopted on April 27, 2018 during the 2018 inter-Korean summit by Moon Jae In and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. In a joint statement, the two leaders agreed to announce the official end of the Korean War during that year and also denuclearize the peninsula.
Ryu Jun Yeol was invited to join the walk along the hiking trail as someone who has been a longtime supporter of Greenpeace. Others in the group of visitors that day included mountaineer Oh Eun Sun and students from Kujin Elementary School.
Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency C-Jes Entertainment shared photos on Instagram of Ryu Jun Yeol together with Moon Jae In and wrote in the caption, “Ryu Jun Yeol is currently on the way to the DMZ Peace Trail. Visiting the DMZ Peace Trail is a meaningful moment. A first step taken together with President Moon Jae In.”
The DMZ Peace Trail was created on land that has been restricted to the public for 65 years since the Korean War. The trail will be open to the public starting on May 27.
