"Produce X 101" PD Ahn Joon Young Shares His Initial Reaction To YG Trainees Participating In The Show

On April 30, Mnet’s “Produce X 101” held a press conference at a convention center in the neighborhood of Yeouido in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.

Producing director (PD) Ahn Joon Young was asked a question regarding the two YG Entertainment trainees, Wang Jyun Hao and Hidaka Mahiro, who will be participating in the show.

Ahn Joon Young PD stated, “I was also surprised. I heard that the two YG trainees were participating in ‘Produce X 101’ through the screenwriter, and I had to confirm if this was indeed true.”

He added, “As far I’m aware, there’s no other reason YG sent them besides for the sake of the trainees. They are doing their best here.”

“Produce X 101” premieres on May 3 at 11 p.m. KST.
