BTS Wins Top Social Artist Award At Billboard Music Awards For 3rd Year In A Row

BTS takes home the Top Social Artist trophy from the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) once again!

The group is attending the 2019 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1 (local time). This is their third time receiving an invite to attend the show, and they’re set to perform their hit track “Boy With Luv” with Halsey at the ceremony.

On the red carpet for the star-studded event, it was announced that BTS has once again secured the Top Social Artist award! The award is determined by votes from fans on Billboard’s website and Twitter.

Leader RM expressed their gratitude and said, “This means so much for us, we’ll do our best today.”

Fellow nominees in the category this year were GOT7, EXO, Ariana Grande, and Louis Tomlinson. BTS became the first Korean group to win at the BBMAs when they grabbed the Top Social Artist title in 2017, and they went on to take home the trophy again in 2018. Before 2017, Justin Bieber had been the winner of the award every year since its introduction in 2011.

BTS is now the first Korean artist to win three awards from the BBMAs, and they remain the only Korean group to receive an award from the ceremony. PSY is the only other Korean artist with a BBMAs trophy, after he won the Top Streaming Song award with “Gangnam Style” in 2013.

BTS is also nominated for the Top Duo/Group award at this year’s ceremony, which will air live on NBC starting at 8 ET.

Congratulations to BTS!
