Shin Ye Eun Talks About Learning How To Dance From GOT7's Jinyoung, Their First Kiss Scene, And More
On May 7, actress Shin Ye Eun sat down for an interview to talk about the end of her drama “He Is Psychometric.”
At one point in the interview, she shared that she had learned a dance from each of her idol co-stars. “I generally like to dance,” she said. “Each of my co-stars have taught one dance to me. On ‘A-Teen,’ it was APRIL’s Naeun. This time, GOT7’s Jinyoung helped me learn. If I’m practicing what I’ve learned, he’ll guide me and tell me to dance the part like this.”
Shin Ye Eun has previously shown her dancing on “Happy Together,” where she danced to TWICE’s “Likey” and BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” She said, “I’m still learning TWICE’s ‘Likey.’ I can only do the chorus.”
She added with a laugh, “I learned from the ‘Happy Together’ viewers that I cannot dance. When I was a trainee, I learned how to dance, but nobody told me then that I couldn’t dance. I will practice hard in order to show something better next time. I will practice hard. Nowadays I dance whenever music comes on.”
Shin Ye Eun and GOT7’s Jinyoung are housed under the same agency, JYP Entertainment, but this drama was their first time meeting. She said, “At first, we didn’t know each other at all and it was really awkward.”
She added that being at the same agency helped them rehearse, although neither of them had a lot of experience with kiss scenes. “We practiced by looking at videos, but we kept getting called out for looking awkward. Eventually, we went into filming while monitoring each take. Every time I caught Jinyoung’s eye, he would say, ‘We can do this. Let’s do this,” but the director kept telling us to do it again. We recorded a lot of outtakes.”
Shin Ye Eun also shared that she had gotten her motorcycle driver’s license specially for the show. She said, “I had to get the license quickly” and added shyly, “I got a perfect score.” She added, “It was my first time on a motorbike. I practiced with my manager and even practiced with putting a camera in front of the bike.”
