Actress Won Jin Ah is in talks to join upcoming tvN drama “Melting Me Softly.”

It was reported on May 8 that Won Jin Ah has been cast as the female lead in tvN’s new weekend drama, to which her label Yooborn Company responded, “Won Jin Ah received an offer for ‘Melting Me Softly’ and is currently in the stage of reviewing it.”

“Melting Me Softly” is about a man and woman who participate in a project to be frozen for 24 hours but wake up 20 years later due to a mysterious scheme. Once they wake up, the two experience a dangerous side effect where they must maintain a core body temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius (approximately 88.7 degrees Fahrenheit) in order to survive. Coupled with the warming of their hearts from romantic attraction, they find themselves in a sticky situation.

The character Won Jin Ah is in talks for is a part-time employee at a broadcasting station who receives an offer to participate in a “Frozen Human Project” where she will given 5 million won (approximately $4,200 USD) in exchange for being frozen for 24 hours.

This production is a collaboration between writer Baek Mi Kyung, who wrote “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon“, “Woman of Dignity,” and “Miracle That We Met,” and director Shin Woo Chul who directed “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden,” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity.”

Won Jin Ah made her drama debut with “Just Between Lovers” in 2017. If confirmed, this will be Won Jin Ah’s television return in almost a year since “Life” last year.

Actor Ji Chang Wook has been confirmed to play Ma Dong Chan, a star variety show PD who also participates in the “Frozen Human Project.” “Melting Me Softly” will be his first project after returning from the military.

tvN’s “Melting Me Softly” is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
