Mnet’s “Produce X 101” has given fans a glimpse of what’s to come in the second episode!

In the premiere of “Produce X 101” last week, the evaluation of the contestants began as they each staged short performances with other members of their agencies and were assigned a grade.

The next episode will include more of the trainees’ performances, as well as a look at the contestants learning and rehearsing the show’s theme song “X1-MA.”

Ahead of the new episode this evening, Mnet shared a pre-broadcast clip that gives a tantalizing look at many of the upcoming performances. It begins with the contestants watching the first episode together with MC Lee Dong Wook, who laughs over how the guys had reacted in shock to the announcement that he’d be the “national producer representative” this year and gushed over how handsome he is.

The performances shown in the clip feature a spotlight on two more of the groups of debuted idols in this season, including UP10TION’s Kim Woo Seok (Wooshin) and Lee Jin Hyuk (Wei) performing their labelmate Teen Top’s “No More Perfume on You” and VICTON’s Han Seung Woo and Choi Byung Chan performing BTS’s “Save Me.”

The trainees from the model agency Esteem are also asked to show off their model walk, and Lee Dong Wook makes everyone laugh by joining in to do a model walk of his own.

When it’s the Jellyfish Entertainment trainees Kim Min Kyu and Choi Jun Seong’s turn to perform, Soyou says that Kim Min Kyu reminds her of a member of VIXX. The trainees suggest that he looks like Hongbin, N, and IZ*ONE’s Kim Min Ju.

The trainers notice that Kim Min Kyu was a leader at his school and a model student who came in third in his class. “I wasn’t terrible at studying,” he told the staff modestly in an interview. “After just studying, I wanted to find what I really want to do, so I thought about it a lot on my own.” He explained that he’d been a drummer in a band club since middle school, and he’d felt great joy on stage. His dream of being an idol had therefore come from his desire to find some way to perform on stage.

Other trainees included in the clip are from Woollim Entertainment, who the trainers have high expectations about.
