Actor Kim Byung Ok Fined For Drunk Driving

Kim Byung Ok has been sentenced for driving under the influence.

On May 12, the Incheon District Court sentenced Kim Byung Ok to a fine of 2 million won (approximately $1,702).

On February 12, the actor was caught drunk driving in the parking lot of his apartment in the city of Bucheon located in Gyeonggi Province. The police showed up to the scene after receiving a call by a resident who said someone was driving abnormally in the parking lot.

At the time of the incident, Kim Byung Ok’s blood alcohol content level was 0.085 percent, which is enough to suspend his driver’s license. The actor told police that he was driven to the apartment by a designated driver service, and he then got behind the wheel to park his car.

In contrast to his initial police statement, however, it was revealed that Kim Byung Ok drove 2.5 kilometers (approximately 1.6 miles) from the road near Lotte Department Store in Bucheon to his apartment.

Kim Byung Ok has appeared in many dramas including tvN’s “Because This is My First Life,” KBS 2TV’s “Go Back Couple,” tvN’s “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” and most recently JTBC’s “Legal High.”
