Chancellor Talks About Collaborating With Girls' Generation's Taeyeon

Chancellor has shared his thoughts on working together with Taeyeon!

On May 13, Chancellor sat down for an interview to talk about his recent comeback with the digital single “Angel,” for which he collaborated with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.

The singer began, “Since it’s my first time releasing a track in two years, I wanted to produce a track that focuses more on my voice than anything else. While working on the lyrics, I thought the track would become even more perfect if I were to work with a female artist. Taeyeon actually came to my mind while working, but she doesn’t feature in a lot songs. I didn’t have much hope when I asked her through the agency, but I was surprised when she willingly agreed to do it.”

Chancellor continued, “I met up with Taeyeon at a recording studio, and I could instantly tell why she is loved by many people. She is great at singing and has a kind personality. To be honest, I’ve been a fan of Taeyeon for a long time. I was nervous because it was like seeing a celebrity, but I was thankful that she made me feel at ease by sharing funny stories.”

Chancellor also talked about performing on Mnet’s “M Countdown,” the singer’s first music show appearance in nine years since he made his debut in 2010 as a member of One Way.

He said, “It was my first time appearing [on a music show] as a solo artist. Now that I’m a person who has been in the industry for a long time, many show representatives greeted me more warmly than they did [when I was a rookie]. I remember seeing the members of Girls’ Generation from afar [when I had debuted] because they were the biggest stars at the time. I’m now promoting a song for which I collaborated with one of them. I’m a successful fan.”
