On April 10, Korea’s National Tax Service conducted an irregular tax investigation of 176 people, which include Han Chae Young and Joo Sang Wook as well as other celebrities, YouTube content creators, athletes, and more. As a result, tax authorities additionally charged Han Chae Young and Joo Sang Wook hundreds of millions of won (approximately hundreds of thousands of dollars or more) worth of taxes.

On May 27, a source from Joo Sang Wook’s agency revealed, “We confirmed that he has thoroughly completed the investigation for suspicion of tax evasion. We were notified that additional taxes will be levied due to the discrepancy in the actual necessary expenses recognized under the tax law and the previous amount that was calculated.” The source added, “He plans to pay all additional taxes immediately after he receives the tax notice.”

Han Chae Young’s agency BS Company explained, “We were notified that after this tax investigation, additional taxes will be levied due to the discrepancy in the actual necessary expenses recognized under the tax law and the previous amount that was calculated.” The agency added, “She plans to faithfully pay all additional taxes immediately after she receives the tax notice.” The agency further added, “From now on, we will pay attention to tax matters and do our best to prevent this from happening.”
