Update: 2PM’s Junho To Enlist This Month + JYP Releases Official Statement
Updated May 28 KST:
JYP Entertainment has released an official statement regarding Junho’s mandatory service.
On May 28, the agency confirmed his enlistment date of May 30 and shared the following statement:
Hello. This is JYP Entertainment.
This is an announcement regarding 2PM’s Junho. During 2PM promotions, he suffered a major injury to his right shoulder due to a severe accident while practicing acrobatics. He received surgery and was diagnosed with a spinal fracture. He consistently underwent rehabilitation treatment and exercised, but the development was not positive, so he took prescribed painkillers when inevitably having to carry out work that is strenuous on his shoulder. For these reasons, he received Grade 4 in the Military Manpower Administration’s physical examination. Lee Junho will diligently fulfill his military duty as a public service worker from now on.
2PM’s Junho is reportedly preparing to begin his mandatory service!
On May 28, an industry representative commented, “Junho is beginning his military duty on [May] 30. However, he will be serving as a public service worker instead due to an injury.”
The 2PM member suffered a severe shoulder injury in the past due to acrobatics and underwent a large surgery on his right shoulder. As a result, he was judged as unfit for active duty and will be serving as a public service worker according to the reports.
Junho debuted as a member of 2PM in 2008 and has recently been active as an actor. He recently impressed with his role in tvN’s “Confession,” and his upcoming film “Homme Fatale” is set to premiere in June.
Following Taecyeon, Jun.K, and Wooyoung, Junho is the fourth member of 2PM to enlist, and his scheduled discharge date is March 20, 2021.
