Cheetah Names Bae Jin Young As The Most Memorable

On the June 2 broadcast of MBC FM radio program “Idol Radio,” Cheetah appeared as a guest and shared interesting behind-the-scenes stories from Mnet’s popular survival program “Produce 101” series.

Cheetah has appeared on the show as a rap trainer for four consecutive years. When asked which trainee remains most memorable to her, Cheetah named Bae Jin Young. Cheetah said, “At first, Bae Jin Young seemed very discouraged to the point he couldn’t even hold his head up. Since I’m in the same agency as him, I got angry seeing him like that, so I scolded him even harder [than other trainees].”

Cheetah continued, “He ultimately made his debut, and he is doing very well nowadays. I’m glad that he calls me noona (older sister) now.”

The rapper also shared her thoughts about Chungha, who appeared in the first season of “Produce 101.” Cheetah said, “She was very well-rounded. Ever since her first evaluation performance, all of the teachers unanimously said that she was good.”

Cheetah then moved on to ask viewers to support the trainees who are participating in “Produce X 101.” The rapper said, “I just hope that you show a lot of support. The trainers are whipping [the trainees] into shape whether you know it or not, so I just hope you show a lot of love to them.”

She continued, “It is interesting to see trainees from up close every year and help them grow. I would like to participate in the next season as well. I would even feel sad if they didn’t invite me.”

When asked about the difference between hip hop artists and idol members, Cheetah answered, “Rap is rap.” She concluded, “In the past, there weren’t a lot of idol members who wrote their own lyrics. I used to question their rap [abilities] at the time, but I’m glad that there are more independent and creative idol members who write both tracks and lyrics themselves now.”
