Yoon Jong Shin To Step Down From "Radio Star" And Other Shows To Focus On New Music Project
Yoon Jong Shin has shared that he will step down from variety shows “Radio Star” and “Movieroom” in order to go overseas for a new music project.
On June 4, the singer posted on his Instagram the following statement.
2020 Monthly Yoon Jong Shin ‘NOMAD PROJECT’
2019, it has been 50 years since I was born and 30 years since I began making and singing songs.
Since then, I have made and sang many songs, laughed and cried on various programs, and even created the company Mystic Story. I have diligently walked and ran to get to where I am now.
Then, I began the ‘Monthly Yoon Jong Shin’ project in 2010. Next year, in 2020, it will be the 10-year anniversary of the ‘Monthly Yoon Jong Shin’ project.
For its 10-year anniversary, I plan on participating in a project that I have drawn, dreamt of, and wished for in many songs.
2020 Monthly Yoon Jong Shin ‘NOMAD PROJECT’
As I have lived my considerably long life, I have sang songs about loneliness, longing, and bitterness. However, I actually keep those I love very close and have not left my place of comfort. A few years ago, I began thinking that I was a creator that had no actual experiences of the feelings I was expressing, such as those of being an outsider, unfamiliar gazes, and leaving.
After thankfully coming to an agreement with my family whom I love, and my Mystic Story family, I have decided to leave the place where I have lived and travel to somewhere unfamiliar for the 2020 Monthly Yoon Jong Shin project. I plan to explore a foreign place in order to create content from the perspective of an outsider.
Apart from the Monthly Yoon Jong Shin project song, I plan on [creating] content that captures the experiences in these places with Mystic Story as well as a few like-minded production teams.
I think the year 2020 will be a huge turning point for me, both as a person and as a creator.
I have been slowly preparing since last year and will consciously keep working until I leave in October of this year.
Although it is regretful, I will properly conclude all of my current programs.
I did not think it would be respectful to let everyone know right before I left, which is I am posting this message now.
Please think of this as the actions of a creator who is trying not to become someone who falls behind. I will prepare the 2020 Monthly Yoon Jong Shin project well.”
Yoon Jong Shin made his debut in 1990. After promoting as a singer, songwriter, and TV personality, he is currently the CEO and producer of Mystic Story.
