Jung Hye Sung Joins Lee Dong Hwi In Talks For tvN's Webtoon-Based Drama

Jung Hye Sung may be joining the upcoming webtoon-based drama that Lee Dong Hwi is also considering!

On June 17, a report was published that stated Jung Hye Sung has decided to appear in the tvN drama “Cheap Cheonlima Mart” (literal title). A source said that Jung Hye Sung is confirmed for the drama along with Kim Byung Chul, Lee Dong Hwi, and Lee Soon Jae.

Jung Hye Sung’s agency J Wide Company later confirmed to TV Report, “Jung Hye Sung has received an offer for ‘Cheap Cheonlima Mart’ and she’s positively considering it.” TV Report stated that other actors who are considering are Lee Soon Jae, Lee Dong Hwi, and Park Ho San.

“Cheap Cheonlima Mart” follows the story of employees at a falling-behind store where the staff is king, rather than the customer. While the manager tries to revive the mart, they’re up against the “human bulldozer” CEO that aims to ruin the store.

According to the original report, the role Jung Hye Sung is in talks for is the “sorceress” of the store, known for her hot temperament and biting remarks. Although she’s neurotic and her mood goes up and down, she’s efficient at getting things done and ensures the mart survives through her service that goes above and beyond. Through her many years of experience and natural sharp eyes, she’s come up with a way to train the employees to show kindness and hospitality in their expressions. In addition, she can tell if a customer’s planning to return something or figure out the real truth about a situation just by looking at their face.

The drama is planned to premiere in the second half of the year.
