Watch: Shin Se Kyung Is The Stubborn And Brave Soul Cha Eun Woo Is Looking For In MBC's New Drama

MBC has released a new teaser for their upcoming historical drama “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.”

A fictional historical drama set in the Joseon dynasty, “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” will tell the love story of Goo Hae Ryung, an aspiring palace historian (Shin Se Kyung) who dreams of a society where everyone is equal, and Lee Rim (ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo), a lonely prince who is secretly a popular romance novelist.

The teaser begins with Goo Hae Ryung drinking as she says, “Yes, I’m a defect,” adding that she’ll die an old maid. The video proceeds to show various clips of the ups and downs Goo Hae Ryung faces.

Meanwhile, Prince Lee Rim’s voice takes over in the background as he says, “Find someone who is not afraid of the king, the crown prince, nor the ministers. Someone who’s stubborn like a bull and someone who’s undaunted. A weird lady like that.” Another voice asks, “Will such a woman exist in this land of Joseon?” Lee Rim replies, “She will exist. Somewhere.” After a brief pause, he says, “That woman, where can I go to find her. You said that her name is Hae Ryung?” and the video ends with Goo Hae Ryung introducing herself.

“Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” will premiere on July 17 at 8:55 p.m. KST. Watch the full teaser below!
