Stone Music And n.CH Entertainment To Launch Boy Group Through New Mnet Survival Program
Stone Music Entertainment has announced they will be working with n.CH Entertainment to launch a new boy group through a new Mnet global idol project.
On June 26, Stone Music Entertainment CEO Jung Chang Hwan attended the launching press conference for “TOO” and stated, “Though many say Korea does not have many natural resources, I believe our resources lie in the human talent that exists in the country.”
He stated, “K-pop is at the center of the world’s attention right now. In order to ensure its longevity, we must keep introducing new talent. Medium to small companies and large companies should work together to debut more artists. Stone Music and n.CH Entertainment are working together to debut a new group in the second half of the year. Our group is set to be called TOO.”
TOO stands for “Ten Oriented Orchestra” and is set to showcase the talents of ten male idols who incorporate the values of the East into Western music. “Oriented” is said to have double meanings of both “Orient,” a term used to describe something as belonging to the east, and “Oriented,” which refers to striving towards something.
Jung Chang Hwan stated, “Not all of the members will be Korean. We currently have 20 potential members cast, and we will narrow them down to ten before pursuing activities. Some of them were active in China and Hong Kong, one is a Filipino American, and there are some who have spent many years of their lives in Australia and Myanmar.” He added, “It has taken us a long time and a great amount of effort to bring this talent in, and we are currently working hard to train them. We plan to have them debut within the year, and their debut will begin with a survival program called ‘To be World Klass’ that will begin airing in mid-September.”
Stone Music Entertainment will be in charge of production and marketing for TOO, while n.CH Entertainment will be in charge of management. Mnet will be creating the program that will air in September.
