"Arthdal Chronicles" Responds To Questions About How Song Joong Ki's Divorce Will Affect Programming

tvN’s “Arthdal Chronicles” has made an official statement in response to the news of star Song Joong Ki’s divorce from Song Hye Kyo.

On June 27, following Song Joong Ki’s announcement that he had filed for a divorce, tvN confirmed that the news would not affect the drama’s broadcast schedule.

Responding to questions of whether there would be any changes to programming, a spokesperson for the network stated, “We have already completed filming for ‘Arthdal Chronicles,’ and Part 2 has just begun airing. [The drama] will continue airing according to schedule. There are still two weeks of episodes left for Part 2.”

“We have not yet completely confirmed the broadcast schedule for Part 3,” continued the spokesperson. “However, there will be no changes to the broadcast schedule caused by the leading actor’s personal life.”

Earlier that day, Song Joong Ki announced that he had filed for a divorce from Song Hye Kyo after a year and a half of marriage. In an official statement released by his attorney, the actor apologized to his fans and explained that he had hoped for an amicable divorce. Song Hye Kyo later responded to the announcement by releasing a statement of her own through her agency.
