Pledis Entertainment Shares Updates On Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters

Pledis Entertainment has provided updates on the agency’s efforts to protect their artists.

On July 1, Pledis Entertainment posted a statement on their official website providing updates on the legal battle against those spreading malicious comments and rumors about their artists following their first statement in April.

Below is the company’s full statement:

Hello, This is Pledis Entertainment.

First, we would like to thank fans for sending much love and interest to Pledis Entertainment’s (hereafter Pledis) artists with caring and supportive hearts

Pledis filed the first criminal complaint on April 11 against commenters (those who wrote or circulated) who defamed Pledis Entertainment’s artists through malicious comments and by spreading false rumors on the violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.

Afterwards, we filed a second complaint/bill of indictment on May 9 and a third on May 20 for the same suspicions, and we would like to additionally inform [everyone] that we are continuously requesting investigation.

Furthermore, in the case that rumors about our artists continue to spread through social media and online communities or other online, offline, and mobile platforms, Pledis will continue to consider all possible actions against the original creators and disseminators of the malicious rumors as they can seriously damage our artists’ images, reputations, and characters.

As an agency, Pledis will continue to do everything possible to protect the rights and interest of our artists. Once again, we would like to thank everyone who loves and cares for our artists and ask for your continued warm encouragement and support.
