This week’s rush of premieres for Wednesday-Thursday dramas was a relatively tight ratings race, with the July 17 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s “Justice” beating out MBC’s “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” and SBS’s “Doctor Detective.”

On day two, all three dramas saw a decrease in ratings, but SBS’s “Doctor Detective,” a medical investigative drama starring Park Jin Hee and Lee Ki Woo, flipped the rankings and took the No. 1 spot from “Justice.” According to Nielsen Korea, the July 18 broadcast of the drama recorded 5.1 and 5.2 percent in viewership ratings (a 0.5 point decrease from the previous day).

MBC’s “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung,” starring ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo and Shin Se Kyung, hit 3.7 and 5.0 percent (a 1 point decrease from the premiere episode), and KBS 2TV’s “Justice,” starring Choi Jin Hyuk, After School’s Nana, and Son Hyun Joo, dropped to third place with 3.8 and 4.8 percent ratings (a 1.6 point drop).

In cable broadcasting, OCN’s “Mr. Temporary,” starring Yoon Kyun Sang and Geum Sae Rok, saw an increase on day two with 2.4 percent viewership (a 0.6 point increase from July 17). tvN’s “Search: WWW” held steady with 3.6 percent ratings.
